02021 Personal Annual Report

COVID-19

This is year two for COVID-19 in Iceland. At the end of December 02021, Iceland saw their largest single day infection rate at the hands of Omicron. This year, Iceland was on and off restrictions. That meant masks in public places and limits to the size of gatherings. We still have never had a complete lockdown. This year we also had to go into quarentine for 4-5 days after a potential exposure. Luckily, the tests were negative. We've had two shots and one booster. This year's annual report numbers are a reflection of the pandemic, more than normal choices.

Communications

In 02021 I topped-up my mobile phone (0) times this year. In 02020, we switched over to a zero-contract. It is effectly the same thing as our pay-as-you-go system, but we didn't have to top-up every three months to keep the number. We were billed 22 ISK (around 0.17 US cents) for our usage in 02021.

Entertainment

In 02021 I saw a total of (0) movie in the theatre, read or listened to (4) book and added (126) articles in Instapaper.

There are still (721) unread articles in Instapaper. We used to get through that list over the holiday season or while travelling, but that freetime has disappeared.

We also signed-up for Apple One, which includes an Apple TV+ subscription. We also have subsciptoimns to Netflix and tried out Disney+.

(0) minutes were spent in the air.

Rather than travel abroad, we spent some time travelling around Iceland.

Conferences

The third installment of Material was planned for early 02020, but we had hoped to postpone it a year to 02021. Sadly, it is still not rescheduled for any time in the near future.

In 02019, we joined Apple Music and have been mostly streaming music or downloading it only to the phone or smart speaker. There is less overview of what is 'owned' and what is 'accessible'.

In 02021, I huffduffed (8) audio files into a podcast.

Photos

At the Start of 02021, my Photo library had (19778) images. At the start of 02022 there were (21935) images in my library, for a change of (2157) images. This is due to the iPhone snaps. The iPhone 12 & 13 have three lenses, so lots of experimenting was done taking photos.
